    Search the Oahu Storm Date Index for your town and the month you first noticed the damage. Every row links to NOAA's own record, so the date you give your insurer is one they can check themselves.

  2. Check the wind

    Look the storm up in the Hawaii wind record explorer to see how its gusts compare with every ranked wind record in the state since 1996, island by island.

  3. Clear the HOA

    If your home sits in an association, the HOA Roof Approval Guide lists its contacts and roof rules, so the approval paperwork moves with the claim instead of after it.

  4. Get the roof documented

    A weather record is not proof that your roof was damaged; an inspection is. On the claim path the inspection is free, and we document what we find in the form an insurer needs.
